It’s been a little while since I finally finished that screenplay. I have only done a little bit of rewriting, but really, I prefer just to begin another one.
Or two. I just can’t make up my mind whether to write a horror story or well, another horror story.
It’s got to be horror though. When I was a teenager growing up in the movie theatre, I watched those flicks, went home and hashed out my own horror stories. As an adult, I’ve gotten more drama oriented. But I’ve never gotten that horror movie out of me in screenplay format.
Seems every writer I talk to has at least one horror story. Most of them are stored away, a source of embarrassment. People don’t like showing that they too, at least at one time or another had fears.
The time is right for writing about fears. Not necessarily mine, just fears, and how they can be manipulated in others.
Time to get back to work.
